Mentor coaching focuses on how you demonstrate ICF competencies through your work with clients. We use a mixture of discussion, observation and feedback to ensure you achieve the required standards for the ICF.

In most cases, coaches need a minimum of 10 hours of mentor coaching, with at least three months between the first and final mentor coaching session. I only offer one-to-one mentor coaching at the present time.

Hypnotherapy and coaching are very different methodologies. Whereas ICF-style coaching is client driven, hypnotherapy can often be directive and therapist-led.

And yet, hypnosis is a powerful tool that can be used to help your clients:

  • Remove, reframe or rewrite limiting beliefs,
  • Access inner resources and strengths
  • Shift their mindset
  • Find a clearer vision of the future
  • Develop more positive habits
  • Change mental characteristics and attributes
  • Break through mental barriers
  • Achieve lasting, meaningful growth... and so much more!

This highly interactive online course will give you the skills to use hypnosis to guide your clients in metaphors and visualisations that put the client at the centre of their own change.

Designed with the ICF Core Competencies at its heart, this course draws on ICF coaching and the most client-led parts of hypnotherapy.

With 8, weekly 2-hour sessions, you will learn to:

  • Use the 6 stages of hypnosis with clients
  • Use direct suggestions effectively
  • Use a range of visualisations and metaphors to effect change
  • Integrate coaching and hypnosis with your clients

The course is suitable for compete beginners to hypnosis.

Please note, this course is designed for ICF accredited coaches with at least a Level 1 / ACC level of initial coach training. It is not designed to teach hypnosis for therapeutic reasons.

This is a highly interactive course and all participants will be expected to take part as both coach and subject/client.

Frequently asked questions

Is hypnosis compatible with ICF-style coaching?

Yes! This course focuses on the use of hypnotic trance where the client is in control. It can be used as part of a standard coaching session or as separate add on sessions in your packages.

Is this hypnotherapy?

No. This course does not teach how to use hypnosis to help people with challenges such as phobias, depression, anxiety or trauma or complex issues such as addiction. We will not be doing any regression work, or using techniques such as talking to the inner child or inner critic, which can bring up past traumas.

Can everyone be hypnotised?

Most people can, yes. We will discuss this in detail. However, everyone, as long as they can relax, can benefit from the techniques we cover, even in a very light state of relaxation.

Do I have to be hypnotised as part of this course?

Yes! This is a fully interactive course and all participants will be expected to take part in practice hypnosis sessions, both as a group and one-to-one.

What are the completion requirements?

To gain the Certificate in Hypnosis for Coaches and the CCEs, you must:

- Attend and take an active role in at least 6 sessions live

- Catch up with any missed sessions

- Complete and pass an assessment in hypnotic technique

Who can join this course?

Participants must be ICF accredited coaches. You do not need to have any prior experience with hypnosis. You will need a good standard of spoken English.

Do I have to have my camera on during the live sessions?

Yes. This course expects everyone to take part in break out rooms and practice sessions. Please also ensure you have a good audio set up and that the room you are working from is free from distractions and interruptions.

Can you help me further after the course?

Yes! The Enhanced and Mastery packages offer one-to-one mentoring and further scripts to deepen your understanding of hypnosis and how to use it with your clients.
